BROADCASTER USE IS FREE; (OTHER USE IS NOT AVAILABLE)
All material offered here is © Copyright 2007 Newstips (all rights reserved) and may not be used except as follows. These segments are available for nonexclusive free use by broadcasters. By this term, we refer to terrestrial broadcasters at commercial or noncommercial public radio and television stations and networks and their counterparts on satellite or cable broadcast channels, and for Web sites associated with these. These segments are not intended for usage by Web-only entities.
DISCLAIMER
These segments are written, produced and voiced by Martin Winston of Newstips. We suggest identifying Marty as a "tech industry insider". Since Newstips plays a dual role (sponsored items in the Newstips Bulletin may be regarded as a PR service while other items are true enterprise journalism), it is important to set ethical guidelines. Here are ours: No item here is in any way a sponsored item. There is no pay for play here. We do not cover products, people or activities specific to a sponsor; in fact, we avoid doing so to the extent that these companies are handicapped in their ability to receive coverage through this venue. When and if we do cover a specific product, it is because we think it significant to some larger context, and we will choose products that are not from a sponsor company in doing such coverage. When we consider an issue or trend significant enough to involve multiple pieces of coverage, there will be no hidden agenda, no agenda of any kind other than that dictated by our own purely journalistic perspective, and no involvement of any sponsored initiative. Any opinions directly expressed are exclusively those of Martin Winston on his own behalf and will be incidental, not central, to the specific subject of a particular item.
FORMAT
Each item we present includes both text and audio elements. The text element suggests a story lead-in and lead-out and includes (distinctly identified) the text of the recorded audio. The audio is recorded as a downloadable 256Kbps high-resolution MP3 file.
FREQUENCY AND CONTENT
We want to let usefulness determine how frequently we add to these reports. How often would you use them? We are willing for now to provide them as often as daily, if there are any stations out there who wish to run them daily. We are also open to your ideas about tech topics you'd like us to cover.
Also, if you use any of our items, please drop us a note at least once so we know we're not entirely wasting our time by doing them.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
All recordings are performed in-house using an Audio Technica AT40407/SV cardioid condenser mike (shock mounted on an O.C. White riser arm) feeding through a Behringer UB1002 mixer and Behringer FCA202 Firewire digitizer to Sony Sound Forge software; all cabling is by either Audio Technica, Horizon Music or Monster Cable.
AVAILABLE SEGMENTS
Items on this list take you to a set of "rotating" pages offering their own navigation through the set.
Each of these pages covers one segment and includes both the downloadable audio clip and suggested lead-in and lead-out copy to go with it.
