Did you ever wonder why so many more new consumer electronics products appear in the months that end with b-e-r? Whether the reason is method or madness, tech industry insider Marty Winston tells us that it's all part of a plan.

For companies in consumer electronics, no time of year counts as much as the fourth quarter – the Holiday season. That's why new products get announced in January, older products go on special over the summer, and the store shelves fill with brand new items right after Labor Day.

Once the holiday rush is over, prices come down. So if you're shopping for something for yourself, you may save money by waiting until after the holidays.
