The Big Event

Friday, October 5, 2007
Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom, Los Angeles

We call it The Big Event because of it lets so many people get so much done, all in one place, all in one day. It's an LA destination to for press people to see everything exciting that people can get for the holidays.

We know how much 4th quarter coverage focuses on these goodies. And we understand just how much the calendar 4th quarter is revenue-critical for companies.

So we designed a standalone full-day (long day) event for:

  • Companies there to showcase their products
  • TV, radio, newspaper and magazine journalists there to report on it
  • Movie people and celebrities to help make a buzz
  • Entertainment & lifestyle press to cover the celebrities
  • Gift bags for celebrities
  • Gift bags for selected press

For people who have been to the big press reception events, all of that excitement is here, only with some exciting new features.

For people who have been to a Newstips Cherry Picks event, there's one of those here, too.

For people who have been to a Hollywood-style pre-awards suite, there's some of that, including the celebrities and entertainment industry VIPs they tend to draw.

And we don't know of any other event that connects the non-news TV shows with the tech gear that they're looking to cover between now and the Holidays.
It's a gift
Yes, we admit it - the fourth calendar quarter is what makes The Big Event a big deal. For most tech companies, it's when most of their sales happen, so it's their most critical quarter for company revenues and profits.

And we're putting more shots of that under one roof than anyone, ever.

Of course, our biggest challenge is in keeping The Big Event productive for everybody, so we're doing some extraordinary things.

Adding connectionsMaking connections happen

Being productive for our exhibitors means being extra helpful for our guests.

So, for starters, there are no registration lines at the door. Instead, we're training a team of Greeters, Guides and Servers who will personally help each new visitor find whatever interests him or her the most.

And we're serving three meals. plus providing Servers who can bring our visitors snacks or beverages without interrupting their tour of the floor.
